What is deionized water?

Deionized water is water that has all the ions or total dissolved solids removed from it. Supply water is run through a series of ion exchange resins producing laboratory grade water. It is used in manufacturing, auto detailing, window cleaning, machine shops, and even kidney dialysis. It is not the same as soft water.
